The 96th Street Station opened on October 27, 1904 in New York City.  In April, 2010, about 134,000 trips (10+5) begin or end at the station which means about 67,000 straphangers (10+4) used the new entrance to the 96th Street Station for travel on the 1, 2 and 3 lines.  WNYC News
