Almost one thousand years (10+3) ago, Halley’s comet was seen shortly before the Battle of Hastings in 1066.  William of Normandy was the victor and crowned King of England.  The series of events that led to the success of the Norman invasion are recorded in the Bayeux Tapestry including Halley’s comet a billion kilometers (10+12) away.
