  • Our eyes have more than 2 million working parts (10+06).
  • The average person blinks 12 times per minute (10+01), which is about 10,000 times per day (10+04), and roughly 3,650,000 times each year (10+06).
  • Our eyes can process 36,000 bits of information every hour (10+04), 864,000 bits of information each day (10+05) and 315,360,000 bits of information each year (10+08).
  • Males exhibit color blindness 10 times more often than females.
  • “The external muscles that move the eyes are the strongest muscles in the human body for the job that they have to do.  They are 100 times more powerful than they need to be.”
  • “The eye is the only part of the human body that can function at 100% ability at any moment, day or night, without rest.” (Our eyelids and the external muscles of our eyes require rest, but not our eyes themselves.)
  • “The human eye can distinguish 500 shades of gray.”
